Dole what?

Ok so we had this at the end of our visit to the Dole Plantation but I LOVE it SO much! Delicious Pineapple ice cream! YUM!

This time we took the train tour around the plantation & it was VERY neat & GORGEOUS!

Here i thought this photo would be better in black & white... & must say i am a BIG fan of B/W photos.

I just thought this was a neat shot especially with the mountains in the background!

There is something about red dirt, blue skies, & green grass that gets me!!!

A little abstract....

Now i have been distant... trying to figure out where my true passion lies and having this blog has really opened my eyes... it gives me something to focus all my energy... poor my heart & soul out not only in pictures but in words. Describing to you what i am feeling while viewing these photos you have gotten closer to me than some of the people who have known me for years....

This is how i show the world what i see, how i feel, now it doesn't go into detail so i guess from there that is where my words come into play.
It has been a hard week... nothing has really happened... as you all know i have moved this weekend but there was something inside me that was missing & i wasn't sure until watching religiously like the CRAZED fan i am... Grey's Anatomy & Private Practice & it got me thinking about the things that i love most & the things that make me the happiest... The first thing that came to mind was mainly that i am afraid to fail @ something that i love.... & then it transeferred over to hanging out with my family & friends enjoying a good beer/wine(which ever you prefer) or hey even a mixed drink! talking about the good old days & creating your own memories. those moments are what make me happiest
And to capture that in a photo makes me EVEN happier. Photography is not only a hobby but a passion of mine & i am going to go after it with every fiber in my being! Thank you for sticking with me through my "trial" period... i am going to kick it into high gear & get the party started!

Strangers??

This evening i was looking through photos of a trip i took.... Now most of these below are from my Hawaii trip besides the very last one which is the whole reason for my post. Which also got me thinking... These people i take photos of are strangers to me & yet i feel i can photograph them the way i feel they live their lives....

Now it may not really be how they are living them... its just a glimpse in their well in this case most likely not their every day lives because they are on vacation but everyone i come across seems not to mind...
I have & am still struggling with taking photos of people in their real lives... i feel like i am invading their space but yet i find like the photo above (it is from behind but it doesn't take a way from the softness) the way they hold each others hands. Its beauty to me...

Here is a different kind of beauty... its a simple long board leaning up against the wall... but the water in hte background & if you look at the expressions on peoples faces.... I dont know call me crazy or detail oriented... i enjoy analyzing things.

Ah... now the reason for the whole post Strangers... Before the movie came out this would have just been 3 people in a ford pick up but watching the Strangers & getting the creepy vibe as the family drove away in their pickup with a pamphlet on Christ. Gives this truck a whole new meaning.... Taken by my friend TJ on our trip to Austin.... still gives me a bit of the creeps but i love it! Do you ever try & look at things differently???
