DESTINY.... Not just a girls name...

So i wanted to play around a little bit.... Hence the title of this post. What do you think of when you see this word Destiny?
Now when i think of the word destiny another word that pops into my head is fate... Somehow or another these two words interlock and form out our world as we know it.
Now, why you ask have you suddenly come to post something about destiny & fate? Well my fellow bloggers I am 23 and still trying to figure out my life (which at this point really isn't all THAT complicated) but still when trying to figure out how to live your life and what will make you the happiest in the long run. Its a tough decision.
And i feel that destiny/fate are 2 words that people who were too afraid (no offense to anyone) to live in the moment. When these words come up they are pretty much always in the form of a question... such as... what is your destiny? is it fate? Too worried about what MIGHT happen in the future. Take it for what it is. LIFE Can't change what you were given but you can sure mold it into something you are pretty proud of! Such as i am continuely proud of the photos that i produce and where i have come from. Life has handed me a WHOLE lot of oppurtunties and I am taking the bull by the horns & going to enjoy this ride!
Hope you all had a Lovely Thursday!
Have a Happy Friday!!

Pleasure...

I find the simpliest things in life give me pleasure.... I love taking photographs of living things whether they are people, insects, or plants.... There is SO much beauty in this photo below not only with the flower but if you look closely in the upper left hand corner on the flower... there is one of the probably coolest looking spiders i have ever seen! He has a green torso & yellow legs with yellow & red spots... pretty freaking neat if you ask me!
Then here we have a simple railroad crossing sign... its been damaged from only God knows what but it is still standing... Just reminds me that you can go through life damaged but you are going to still be standing in the end. Nothing you are ever given is TOO much for you that at the end of the day you wont be standing.

Now you ask where all this seriousness comes from & well i must say it comes from Elizabeth Gilbert's book Eat, Pray, Love. Its a terrific tale of her journies in life where she was figuring out who she really is & MAN OH MAN!!! I must say that i was thinking about reading it before i ever knew it was being made into a movie & now i am trying to hurry up & read it so that i can go & see it (which will be the first EVER book that i have read before the movie has come out, or that i have seen it)
Now her story, however opposite it might be definitely gives you things too look at in your own life & helps you realize things about yourself that really i never would have looked at before. And right now i am in the "Pray, India" Chapter (hence the reason Pray is in focus) and it is by far my favorite because it has just helped me to relax again & take a step back & enjoy the here & now moments & stop focusing on what i want my future to look like. So sorry for all the seriousness but really felt the need to post this! & i must say that if you haven't checked out Eat, Pray, Love yet, you totally need to & not just because its being made into a movie but because it will change your life! And well if you dont like change then i dont recommend the book... lol.
What do you all find pleasure in??
Hope you all had a terrific
TUESDAY!!

Getaways...

I know that all of us at some point or another wish we could just get away... Now i probably wish this more than anyone because i am a traveler... love everything about it and experiencing new things... i think its just the initial thrill of it all. So while at work i am thinking of where i can go during break or lunch time to take pictures so i can keep my mind active & interested (not that its that hard when it comes to photography) but i must say it does keep my mind of the BORINGNESS that is my job... lol
Anyways these photos are all taken in the back corner of my parking lot at work.... just chilled out back there ate my lunch & photographed... Ah if only i could do this for a living! lol

My main getaway since ACTUALLY traveling would cost a fortune is photography. I transcend to another place where it is more peaceful, beautiful, & a lot less complicated.
Who wouldnt want that right?
Let me know of a place that you like to get away to... whether its ACTUALLY traveling because you are one of the few that actually has money left over... or if its just a state of mind to get you out of the day to day junk that is called LIFE!
Happy Thoughtful Thursday!!

Just another day?

So today was a pretty relaxed day even though i do go into work for a few hours of O/T spent time with the fam out by the pool, had a lovely dinner, & conversation as always. Rather nice... I am going to get myself out of the house a little more by taking a walk around my new neighborhood & taking photos & such as i will need something to take the place of my beautiful Hawaii photos! And i REALLY need to start playing with it more.
Below someone, i am guessing it is their name, etched it into the sand & i thought it interesting the way they had written it into the sand....
Its not parallel with the ocean but perpendicular (i think is the word i am most searching for). But the colors also i feel are magnificent!
Another photo taken as we were driving.... i am not quite sure what this is holding up or had held up at some point but i love the way it is placed in the photo....
Who doesn't love flowers? This was a bush that my sister had right outside the front door & i thought what a perfect oppurtunity to sharpen my skills in photographing flowers!

Here is another angle from the same bush...

I have also been going through a point in my photography which i am trying to learn but dont feel that i can on my own... i am going to attempt to find a group somewhere here where they are willing to teach me before i can get into college where i feel i will most willing learn what i want to know. I have also been going through a faze where i feel that i am NOWHERE near where i want to be & it is very frightening and i know i have only started & being patient has never been my strong suit lol I am trying.... holding in there & working at what i do know.
I was playing around with the colors & such of the photo above... not quite sure what i think of it... but an interesting perspective.... I am tired mentally more than physically at this point. Really wishing that i could be farther along & that i had ALL the money in the world even though i dont think at that point that would make me an happier BUT it would get me the stuff that i NEED in order become a successful photographer. So thanks for listening to my ranting, raving, & pathetic attempt at sharing my feelings.
Take care & Happy Saturday!

Slow day....

Today was one of those slow/fast days if you know what i mean! Although it seems to be speeding up since i have been off of work... ugh... Anyways...
So below are actually a few more photos from Saturday the church in which the wedding took place!

This was taken outside the fellowship hall which was where the Reception was held!
And I LOVE this bottom photo.... it was in the church above the front where the pastor stands & such... :)

I also added a copyright to it... thought it was pretty neat! Since i have been getting clients... I dont like the font itself but haven't been able to change it and nothing really lets me know that i can.... so if anyone has Adobe Lightroom & knows how to change the font... Let me know, Thanks!
So today i actually got ANOTHER person from work asking if i could take their family photos! I am SOO ecstatic! lol. This is what i have been looking for lately something i can REALLY feel good about... so THANKS to all of you who have been following me because i dont think i could have done it without you guys! Anyways... Hope you all have a wonderful evening!

Visitation....

So, today decided to make a trip to see my grandpa, grandma, & Uncle Jack in their final resting places... I have been wanting to get to a cemetery and take a few photos because i find a beauty in all of it. Now this may sound strange me being "excited" to go to the cemetery but i haven't been to see my grandpa/grandma since my grandmas funeral 2 years ago & to my uncles when he passed almost 4 years ago.
My Grandpa & Grandma are located in the Houston National Cemetery (Veterans Memorial). Below i have photographed a bench in front of my grandma & grandpa's tombstone. If you also look closer at the bench photo you will see the tombstones lined up which i enjoy the spacing of them. I have also included their tombstone. My grandma is buried on top of my grandpa so they have put my grandma's name & info on the back of my grandpa's tombstone as to keep them closer together.
Below is a photo in which i enjoyed from the cemetery mentioned above. It was rather chilly at this point.. very windy as you can tell by the fountains but i enjoyed the colors.
Below is a walkway along with my uncle's bench/headstone. He is located in Memorial Oaks Cemetery... I am not as big a fan of the layout of graves but the surrounding scenery is great to look at.Below is one of my favorite things from my journey while visiting my Uncle.

Again, you may find it strange that i was excited but this is what makes life more interesting. Being in a cemetery for a brief moment i am sad but then take a look at the different tombstones & wording that people have chosen for their loved ones. It is one last chance for showing how VERY different we all are. What do you think when you think about cemeteries?

Life decisions....

I have recently been thinking a lot about what i want to do with the rest of my life. I have always wanted to be a teacher of some sort but as of lately i have realized or rather come to the conclusion that i am not sure i could handle the kids now a days. As stated in my previous blog i have recently received a nikon d3000 camera (which i am IN LOVE with!) as i have always enjoyed capturing the moments in which we currently live from day to day. From here i have been taking pictures of random things not really knowing what i am doing. I am a person who likes to figure out how thing work but not ony from figuring it out on my own so i am going to try and see if i could take a few photograpy classes in which to hone in and better learn my camera and how i can have the best possibl results. If anyone has any suggestions... please let me know.
